Spring is a great time to get a lot of cleaning done. As temperatures warm up people everywhere start to clean and declutter their homes. The same goes for your wardrobe.
There are some easy ways to help declutter and make the most out of your wardrobe.
When looking through the pieces of your wardrobe ask yourself if you have worn the item in the past year. If the answer is no it is probably time to get rid of it. There are a few exceptions to this such as wedding guest dresses or other formal wear.
If you haven’t worn the item… does the item still even fit? Sometimes we tell ourselves that our goal is to fit into the item. However, we have to live in the now. Your wardrobe should make you feel amazing now, not in the well I wish.
Can the item be worn multiple ways and fit in with the other pieces? A great wardrobe is one that is mostly made from timeless pieces and good foundational pieces. If the item can only be worn one way it’s time to re-evaluate if it has a place in your wardrobe.
So now you’ve decided to get rid of a few things or maybe a lot of things, now what? You can donate to your local goodwill or other such store. Or you could sell it online on platforms such as Poshmark, Mecari, and Depop.
P.S. the above places are a great way to find pieces you may need for your wardrobe without paying full price and not participating in fast fashion.
