Bear Town

Today’s review isn’t going to be like any other (and sorry not in a good way).

First things first I did not finish the book. Yes you heard that right I did not finish it. Why you may ask. I just couldn’t get into it. It wasn’t drawing me in like I hoped it would. I discussed in my mid month book club Instagram story that I really wasn’t liking it and that it may cause some people to be very uncomfortable due to the sexual violence.

I only got about 1/4 the way through and this is my review from just that. I liked how the plot followed different people, however I just really thought the plot was very slow in terms of progressing. Maybe that was part of the small town feel everything moving a little slower but I just couldn’t keep engaged with it.

The detail of the characters were very well written though and  I felt their pain and  their depth really well as I was reading. That was probably the best part of the book.

This just goes to show it is completely okay to not finish a book. I had high hopes I really did but it just wasn’t my thing and  it’s okay if a book isn’t yours.

So tell me did you finish the book? If so, what are your thoughts
