Echo Mountain

Echo Mountain

This month has seemingly been fast and  slow at the same time. Anyone else feel that way? Although I did not get to finish the book quite yet this month (Hello teaching!). I’m most of the way through and  feel I can discuss it.

This book is truly a great coming of age story. Ellie and her family have to move to the mountain after the Great Depression hits and  they can no longer afford their home in town. This is more of struggle for some family members than others and  it really tries the family dynamic when tragedy strikes.

This whole time I have been cheering Ellie on hoping that she can help to pull the family together after the tragedy. I think it is going to happen in the end and  I can’t wait to finish the book to find out. Along the way Ellie has had some unlikely friendships and  I think they are going to come to her aid in the end. Can’t wait to finish to find out!
