Starting today through Sunday is tax free weekend in Ohio! Meaning most back-to-school necessities are not only on sale but don’t include tax. I have included some tips to help you get the biggest bang for your buck.
1. Make a list of gaps in your wardrobe. Just because things are on sale and tax free does not mean you need to go crazy and buy everything. Having a list makes it helpful to put on the blinders and just find what you need.
2. Look for sales. Once you’ve made the list look to see if the item is on sale. If not continue to monitor for a sale. (Remember you DO NOT have to buy it this exact weekend).
3. Understand what falls under tax free. Had your eye on a new tv… sorry that is not considered tax free. Had your eye on some back to school tops…. that is tax free.
4. Don’t only think about summer, remember the upcoming seasons. This can be tough when it’s so hot right now to even think about buying a sweater but remember fall and winter are just around the corner.
5. Check on Amazon too! I just recently learned that if a tax free weekend is going on in a state, often times Amazon will offer tax free (once you get to putting in your address) on some items as well!
