Where the Crawdads Sing

Whoa y’all. Where the Crawdads Sing was unlike any other book I have ever read! Not in a bad way but just not something I would have normally picked. I definitely went out of my comfort zone with this one.

There was twists and  turns throughout the entire book and  it shows the rawness of class stereotypes and  small town life and  feeling.

But let’s get into it. I love Kya’s character, although pretty unrealistic for her to be living alone at such a young age. It’s such a great coming of age story and  I think the character were really well written and  I liked how in the beginning the chapters flipped back and  forth in terms of time lines.

Okay but is anyone else mad at Tate in the beginning. However, what really got my blood boiling was that motel scene. Those of you that read know exactly what I am talking about and  ohhh man I hated Chase the whole book but really hated him there.

Overall, I thought it was a great book and  a great one to start off the year. One of my goals for Book Club this year is to read a lot of bestsellers and  books that I see other people really liking but are out of my comfort zone. I have quite the long list of Books I want to read.
